De toekomstige bewoners wilden een gebouw met een chique, stadse uitstraling. We brachten dat tot uitdrukking met de driedubbelhoge entreehal met open haard en zeven meter hoge winkelpuien.<\/h4>\n"},{"acf_fc_layout":"text_image","disable_crop":false,"sticky_text":false,"image":false,"image_landscape":false,"full_image":false,"image_location":"right","text_top":"<p>We lieten ons inspireren door de New Yorkse architectuur uit de eerste helft van de vorige eeuw. De chique woongebouwen in Manhattan hebben een heldere opbouw met een publieke plint aan de straat en een bekroning op de top. Hun bakstenen gevels zijn zorgvuldig gecomponeerd en rijk gedetailleerd.<\/p>\n<p>Deze elementen en waarden vertaalden we naar een eigentijds ontwerp voor de Amsterdamse Zuidas. We gaven 900 Mahler een heldere opzet. Beide torens sluiten met hun schaal en grootte aan op de straat waaraan ze zijn gelegen: een hogere toren aan de grootstedelijke Gustav Mahlerlaan en de lagere toren aan de rustigere George Gershwinlaan.<\/p>\n<p>De combinatie van de diepbruine klinkers, bronskleurige kozijnen en verticale penanten geeft het woongebouw een iconisch voorkomen.
