Parametrisch ontworpen visitekaartje

In 2020 opende INBO het nieuwe Science Museum en conferentiecentrum in Nanchang, China. Het gebouw vormt de entree van het grotere Ganjiang district en de Wanchuang Science City campus. Ons team in Shanghai ontwierp hier een volledige campus voor Internet of Things (IOT), Cloud computing en nieuwe materialen waarmee deze plek dé regionale kennishub voor de future-tech-industrie belooft te worden.

INBO realiseerde voor het eerst een gebouw met parametrisch ontwerp op deze schaal. We gebruikten parametrische scripts voor de architectonische vormgeving en minimalisatie van restmateriaal. De modellen koppelden we direct aan materialen en productietechnieken waardoor het ontwerpproces aanzienlijk versnelde. Het resultaat is een flexibel, duurzaam gebouwconcept en markant visitekaartje voor de nieuwe campus.

Efficiënt materiaalgebruik

Met ons ontwerp voor het museum en conferentiecentrum sloten we aan bij de functie van de future-tech campus. Aluminium lamellen vormen een vloeiende huid die het hele museum omsluit. In parametrische scripts koppelden we plattegrond en gevel aan elkaar waardoor varianten onderzoeken eenvoudig was. We berekenden de optimale maat tussen de panelen en bepaalde de meest efficiënte element-lengte. Materialen en productieprocessen namen we al in de ontwerpfase mee waardoor we grondstoffen en tijd bespaarden.

i-CAM methodologie

Voor een succesvolle campus van wereldniveau is meer nodig dan een set goed ontworpen gebouwen. Voor de toonaangevende High Tech Campus Eindhoven ontwikkelden we onze i-CAM methodologie (INBO Campus Assessment Model), die we ook in Nanchang toepasten. We gebruikten deze om de complexiteit van een campusontwikkeling te analyseren en in kaart te brengen. Met de conclusies vormden we het concept en de strategie. Dit heeft een groene en gezonde omgeving tot resultaat waar kennisuitwisseling en innovatie voorop staan.
